i don't even officially OWN this animal yet - hell i don't even have a name for him (moth? grendal? shambles? smaug?) and somehow, someway he has developed a pooch-y tummy that makes him look like one of the who's down in whoville.

clearly, if i had children my children would be wall-e children and feast on marshmallow fluff, potato skins and vanilla frosties with chocolate sprinkles.

with that plethora of mixed literary references pooch-y boy and i leave you all.

this is not the behavior we have come to expect from the CA electorate and i demand to see CA's long form birth certificate.

also: it is NOT 'the year of women'. this is the year of a handful of random elected candidates in random primaries in random states in JUNE that happen to have an X chromosome some of whom were already elected.

the other day someone very dear to me asked about this. here is what i think:

it's being a hypocrite or speaking one thing (rede) while doing another (recks not his own...), as in:

1. laertes nannering on to ophelia about hamlet's immoral intentions all the while (laertes) planning to go to paris and schtup many marais whores.

2. be a republican and nanner on about the immorality of the godless and the homosexual and the non-child creater and then be caught in the primrose way with a young boy who is toting your luggage.

i don't think the problem lies with the democrats or their message or their strategies or kerry's election campaign or political consultants or right wing morality or left wing populism or the politics of hope vs. despair.

i think in fact, a portion of our citizenry is basically a bunch of under-educated medieval peasants who fear the witch and the homosexual and the darkening of the seasons by lucifer. somehow -- unwisely in my book -- we've let them believe that they can leave the demesne without their lord's permission, speak without mockery and vote.

so the good news is we can stop beating ourselves up. the bad news is that those wattle and daub houses are REALLY unsanitary. also, it's likely the Albigensians were ahead of their time too and look how well THAT ended.

since last posting, but the last two years have pretty much sucked and the last six weeks have been the equivalent of a protracted battle with cancer.

actually the last six weeks included an actual battle with cancer (lost) only not so protracted. so there's that.
